But the fun won't end with the turn of the calendar. October brings another set of outdoor activities.

Oktoberfest, noon-5 p.m. Sunday, Garlo Heritage Nature Preserve, South SR 19, Bloomville.
The family-friendly event features German music and food, narrated wagon rides and children's activities.
Tiffin Art Walk, 4-8 p.m. Thursday. Visit more than 20 participating art galleries, downtown shops and eateries.
Oak Ridge Festival, Oct. 15-16, 15498 E. TR 104, Attica. See costumed artisans and craftsmen demonstrate their skills, antique machinery displays and demonstrations, hand-crafted items in a shaded craft village in a woods, stage locations throughout the woods, a variety of entertainment, a living history encampments, kids' attractions and activities, a food court, military vehicles and weaponry.
Tiffin Developmental Center Halloween Parade, 2 p.m., Oct. 16, 600 N. TR 73, Tiffin. It's the 50th year for the parade.
The inaugural Tiffin Zombie 1 mile run/walk is set for Oct. 22 at Tiffin University Paradiso Athletic Complex. Dress as a zombie for a chance to win a gift card. Registration will begin at 9 a.m., zombie costume judging is to be at 9:45 a.m., and the first flight of zombie survivalists is to hit the course at 10 a.m.
Plus, supporters of the Seneca County Park District plan open houses at preserves in the county system, the Harvest Fest returns to Miller Farm Oct. 8 and Riehm Farm continues to offer barnyard fun and a corn maze.
At this rate, the ensuing holiday season may seem sedate by comparison.
